ABOUT OUR WALKS
When: Throughout the year, Sedgemoor Ramblers walk every Sunday, and shorter, easier walks on a Saturday. During the Spring and Summer months, short evening walks are arranged weekly with the option of a pub meal afterwards.
Where: Walks take place in Sedgemoor, the Quantock Hills, and neighbouring areas such as the Mendips, Exmoor, North Somerset, Dorset and West Wiltshire.
How Long: Sunday 8 - 12 miles : Saturday 5 - 7 miles : Summer evenings approx 3 miles
We estimate our average walking speed to be 2 m.p.h., including breaks. This will vary according to the terrain, so a 10 mile walk will take approximately 5 hours.
Meeting place: Most of our walks are circular and start and end at the point given. The meeting point description on the programme includes the grid reference and, wherever possible, the post code. In remote areas, this can be some distance away as only the nearest available postcode to the meeting place can be shown.
Types of walk: Occasionally, linear walks are arranged with different starting and finishing places. These will involve car sharing at the beginning and end of the walk or catching a bus or train. On these walks, the walk leader will have checked timetables and details will be clearly shown in the programme.
