Footwear Many walks cover rough country and may be muddy. We therefore advise that stout, waterproof footwear, preferably walking boots/shoes, be worn on most occasions.
Clothing Warm and comfortable clothing is necessary on all but the hottest days, as well as protective waterproof clothing. A number of ‘layers’ is better than a heavy jacket. It is advisable to have adequate protective clothing in very hot weather.
Rucksack You will also need a rucksack to carry food, liquid, first aid, spare socks etc. Some type of small, waterproof mat to sit on at 'break time' is also useful.
